Taylor and I have been together for just over four years and engaged for almost one (April 16, 2016). We met at work and instantly became friends. I think that is why we work so well together. We were friends before we started dating and really got to know each other. We share a lot of the same hobbies such as skiing and golfing and both require a good jolt of coffee to start our day (probably me more than Taylor).

I started skiing at the age 2 and basically grew up on the ski hill being a competitive ski racer for Alberta and Canada. After I "retired" from ski racing I went to University in Nova Scotia and came back to Calgary and started working in Oil and Gas as a true Calgarian does ha. I started working in Fort McMurray at Syncrude plant as a Lab tech and that is where I met Taylor. I remember the exact moment I met him and can still picture the look on his face. He was sitting at the computer, not doing anything special, but it was from that moment that we became instant friends and the rest is history!
Even though I was an adventure and speed seeker in my younger days, I'm a bit of a chicken and a home body. Taylor pushes me to step out of the box and to try new and fun things. One thing that I've always thought about Taylor is that he is actually one of the nicest people I have ever met and has the biggest heart. I know everyone probably says that, but he would jump through hoops to help anyone and never says no to a request for help (even when it's something crappy like moving), it's an automatic yes. It really says something about a person's character when they have a desire to help people, do things for people and just loves doing it. Saying yes to marrying him was the easiest thing I have ever done and I can't wait to start on this new adventure with him.
I met this cool skier girl at work... It was funny we were best buds right away (Bonus: I know she's a hard worker). a few months go by and we started hanging out together outside of work and going on coffee dates almost everyday, one thing lead to another and we have a real relationship. I started telling my mom about this girl I was dating and right away she says "Oh yes, you were telling me about her... the skier?" I find it really funny she made a mental note of Jess months before just by the way I talked about her. One thing that makes my bride so special is the intangibles; The ease of all our conversations, her look when I try to be funny, how excited I get when she calls me after a long day at work... and on and on...
